A conversation with space for both of you
You don’t need identical perspectives to begin. Therapy can be a place to discuss recurring patterns, what each partner needs, and the changes you want to work toward together.
What you might work on together
- Explore communication patterns and recurring disagreements.
- Discuss trust, boundaries, connection, and shared expectations.
- Practice making room for each other’s experiences.
Getting started
Amber Pinkham and Jon Stuempel offer couples counseling. Ask about appointment options and fees for couples when you reach out. For virtual sessions, both partners must be in Florida.
Couples counseling in Clearwater or online in Florida
Meet together at our Drew Street office, arrange virtual sessions while both partners are physically in Florida, or alternate between office and online appointments with the same therapist. Explore online counseling or compare all three session formats.
Choosing a couples therapist
Amber Pinkham, LCSW, and Jon Stuempel, Registered Clinical Social Work Intern, work with couples. Amber draws on attachment-based and Gottman-informed work; Jon brings a collaborative, strengths-based approach. Their profiles explain more about their styles so you can decide what feels like a fit.
What to expect when you begin
Early conversations can explore what brought each of you to counseling, recurring difficulties, and the changes you hope to make. Your therapist will explain the process and help you discuss goals together. You do not need to agree about everything before requesting an appointment.
Before booking, ask about availability, the couples-session rate, and whether your specific service and clinician are covered by your plan. Our fees and insurance page explains what to confirm. You can also read our first-appointment guide.
